Using pages on your blog is a great way to add content that you’d like your visitors to easily access at any time! You can easily make a page by simply creating a post, and changing a couple settings. A link to the page will even be automatically added to your blog’s main navigation!
Some examples of pages you could make are:
These are by no means exhaustive, though. You are only limited by your imagination!
To make a page from a post, it’s very simple. Start off by creating a new blog post. Just click that big blue button on the left that says “New Blog Post”.
You’ll be then taken to the Post Editor. It’s now time to create your page!
First up, you’ll need a title. Whatever you use as a title will be the link in your navigation, so choose carefully. It’s also wise to use a short name, as long ones take up a ton of space.
Then simply add whatever text you’d like in the body of the post. You can add links, lists, forms, images, videos, and pretty much anything else you can think of!
Also make sure to add a few descriptive, succinct tags for better search engine optimization.
Once you have your post finished, you’ll need to click on the “advanced” tab.
You will then be taken to the following screen. This is where you will activate your page.
You’ll want to select the box beside “Use as page”. Now this post will appear as a page in your navigation. It will be in a different spot depending on which theme you’re using.
Depending on what type of page you’re making, you may wish to turn commenting off. For instance, a Contact page has no need for comments, so uncheck this box to make it look cleaner.
Then simply hit “Publish” and you have yourself a page!
If you’d like to edit that page in the future, you’ll find it in the Posts section of your blog, in the “pages” tab.
Now get out there and make yourself some pages!
