Using the Theme Editor

To edit the design of your blog, click on the “Design” link located in the navigation bar on the left hand side of your Dashboard. The first tab you’ll see is THEMES.

Simply click the CUSTOMIZE button for your Current Theme to open up the Theme Editor.

From the Theme Editor you will be able to tweak many aspects of your blog. After you make a change, you’ll need to refresh your design to view the changes. To do so, simply click on the “refresh preview” button that appears over your blog. This button will appear whenever a change has been made that hasn’t been updated yet.

NOTE: In the Theme Editor you won’t see the live content of your blog, but rather a “dummy” post. This lets you get a sense of how things will look, without having to load up all your content. We like to keep fotojournal nice and snappy!

It’s very important to ensure that you save changes that make to your blog design. In the top right hand side of your Theme Editor you will see a “SAVE” button. This button will turn bright blue whenever there is a change the needs to be saved. If there are no changes that need to be saved, the button will turn grey and inactive.

Each section of your blog has a different link on the left hand side of the Editor, and different options to tweak. Play around with the various options, and experiment until you’ve got something you love!

Now that you’ve got the basics figured out, you might want to try changing your background image. Or if you’re really adventurous, you can radically tweak your design using custom CSS code.
